We started the day with birds, birds, and birds. Listening, observing and creating. The children made and flew birds around the woods in response to the amazing bird calls around them.
After school the children continued their great litter pick and tidy of the meadow edges and woodland track. Armed with gloves and a litter grab, they worked together and collected another 2 full bags of discarded rubbish on our walk to the woods. It is so fantastic to see the children taking such action to clean up the space for the benefit of all of the community, and the wildlife locally. They are truly engaged in learning about and supporting their environment, which will hopefully stay as a force within them.
Once in the woods there was time to sing and tap rhythms, and chat and snack and drink and share and create and build and balance and swing and play.
