Coppice Club in the bluebells - April 2026
Hello! I'm Jaz, joining Em as co-director of Sawpit Woods CIC, and this is my first blog post since joining the team at the end of 2025. It’s really joyous to be posting about April’s Coppice Club where we were spoiled by the woods at one of their seasonal peaks, in the spring sunshine. The bluebells were incredible, the sun shone beautifully, and we all got busy tending this special place. Meanwhile, as it always seems to in the woods, time stretched and slowed, with time t

As the daffodils sang, we got busy making mallets and starting to carve spoons and spatulas amongst the emerging blue bell shoots. With grandmothers, grandchildren, solo visitors, parents and newcomers, we all enjoyed the time and space together with biscuits, tea, coffee and

Early Spring gathering with Sawpit Woods
At the end of January, we gathered in the woods to celebrate Imbolc, a time between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox when we celebrate life re-emerging and signs of Spring starting to sprout. Once again, the rain held off and we shared a happy day together around the fire. We started off by sharing what brings us joy before setting off to explore the woods and nearby land with fistfulls of the colours of the emerging spring time. We even found blue skies! We gathered r
