Getting crafty at Springtime

Lucky us! Thanks to the weather gods, we spent another glorious day in the woods, playing and crafting in honour of Equinox, Ostara and Easter time. It's been a busy month behind the scenes, with celebrations of birthdays, civil partnerships and delight that we've received funding for our brilliant Coppice Club. More to follow on that soon!...
This week, we spent the morning hanging out in the hammock and testing our balance on the slack line before playing fun games in the woods. For how long can you balance on one leg? What happens when you close your eyes too? Games are a wonderful way to explore ideas and offer connection to each other and life in the woods and we always start our days with some gentle down time and some silly play before getting together to make something beautiful with our hands.
This week we welcomed lovely Caroline of @wecreateartgroups to dye and decorate eggs. Take a look at the wonderful creations made in the pictures above! We used onion skins, beetroot, tumeric, wax and paint too. Thank you Caroline for bringing your wonderful creative energy to us all.
At this time of year, the balance of light and dark, renewal and rebirth, the changing clocks, and turn to longer days and greening of the land and woods, life feels energetic and we celebrate the godess of Spring, Ostara, really being present.
One regular visitor to Sawpit Woods described how relaxed they found the day 'I just put myself on a log and let the day happen. It was just what I needed'. We know how full and challenging life can feel sometimes, whether you're a parent or not, and we hope that Sawpit Woods, and the community here, offer some welcome rest, relief, connection and joy. Join us next time to find our for your self. Thank you too ALL who came and shared this special time with us.
Stay in touch with us by signing up to the newsletter and check out our events to join us in the woods soon.
We can’t wait to welcome you here.
