Food for us and the birds

The smallest people collected pine cones in the drizzle this morning, before making bird feeders with them. We spotted freshly dug badgers dens and balanced over 3 different bridges before getting a bit wetter and muddier exploring the stream. We shook some trees and giggled at the raindrops and spotted some webs dripping with droplets. We drank tea and swung and climbed and splashed and slipped and laughed a lot.

At after school club we played some silly hiding and balancing games. We spotted some Canada geese landing in the field and two deer bounding along the track. Then pancakes were cooked on the fire we made. Yum, yum, pancakes in our tum.

Altogether the day was filled with friendship and laughter in the woods, providing food for us and food for the birds.
