Spring arrived at Sawpit Woods... We dusted off our tools, learned new skills, carved mallets, made new connections, explored the woodland and built our dead hedges — all soaked in that first warm sun.

As the daffodils sang, we got busy making mallets and starting to carve spoons and spatulas amongst the emerging blue bell shoots. With grandmothers, grandchildren, solo visitors, parents and newcomers, we all enjoyed the time and space together with biscuits, tea, coffee and time to roam the woods. Here is a selection of photos and you can see our insta post about it here

It was a glorious afternoon, welcoming newcomers and people of all generations. The intention for this offering is for all generations. It’s an adult focussed group yet children are of course so welcome. They too get involved in tool work, crafting and helping to tend the woods with their adults or with others they meet… and we all play and enjoy connecting with each other and celebrating our relationship with the natural world. The sessions are unstructured and you are free to wander the woods, join in the activities or make your own. It’s very low key. Do come along and see for yourself. You are so welcome.

We are gathering again in the woods on Sat 28th March for a Spring Equinox/ Ostara celebration... getting crafty by decorating eggs and playing with natural dyes as well as playing with balance in the woods.

The Next Coppice Club will be on Sunday 19th April 1-3pm. Please book here so that we know who’s coming. Details of location and what to bring are provided nearer to the event.

Stay in touch with us by signing up to the newsletter and check out our events to join us in the woods soon.

We can’t wait to welcome you here.
