Winter Solstice, Monday 21 December
Mon 21 Dec

Come & join us to let the woods carry us through to the new year, with tea, maybe a few songs, stories, and chat. Alongside the stillness there'll be a few simple woodland tasks on hand, Coppice Club style, for anyone who'd like to make use of the light with the tools.

About the event
The word solstice comes from Latin solstitium, meaning "sun stands still," as the Sun's path apparently pauses before reversing direction. We’ll be marking the winter solstice together in the woods, celebrating the shortest day and longest night of the year and celebrate the returning light.
Come & join us to let the woods carry us through to the new year, with tea, maybe a few songs, stories, and chat.
Alongside the stillness there'll be a few simple woodland tasks on hand, Coppice Club style, for anyone who'd like to make use of the light with the tools.
Coppice Club is our regular gathering to tend the woods together, coppicing hazel, making charcoal and picking up bushcraft skills as we go. All abilities welcome, and there's always tea by the fire. Find out more about Coppice Club →
