About the event
The Sawpit Woods will be our meeting space and resource to meet.
The cost is £10 per adult and £2 per child.
Come and enjoy the freedom and support of the woods with your small people and meet others. Any child and parents and carers from birth to school age, bring one, bring them all. Stay and play and follow your childs interests and spend time together in the woods.
Whether the weather is bright, warm, cold, wet or misty, the only limiting factor is our appropriate clothing and our enthusiasm! We have a covered shelter, but you will need weather appropriate clothing each week. In the summer, although it may be hot, the brambles, nettles and thistles are out, so long clothing on legs and arms are recommended. The woods are shady, so less hot on a summers day, and covered arms and legs lead to less scratches and prickles.
The session will be held by a Forest School Practitioner, but will be directed by the children's interests. There can be digging, scrambling, climbing, balancing, painting, making, fire lighting, adventuring and connecting with nature in whatever way they choose to engage. We will have water and hot drinks, so bring along a snack if you feel your children might want or need them.
