About the event

We started planting our Children's Forest in November 2020 and have nurtured, played in and enjoyed the emerging woodland space with local children and our wider Sawpit Woods community throughout the cycles of the year ever since.

Join us for this community day to wander the land & gather tree seeds. Meet some of our native trees & learn about their ecology, lore, food & medicine through song & story. We will gather fruits & nuts for food, make tea & save seeds for sowing. You will learn how to germinate the different tree seeds for sowing & have opportunity in the spring to plant them out in a Forest From Seed tree nursery where they will be tended & one day planted out in the Children's Forests.

£20 per adult, children free. This course is available at a reduced rate thanks to funding awarded to the Children's Forest from 'The People's Projects'. Children's Forests run a variety of nature based courses designed to support reconnection with the land, inspiring a deeper connection to nature, self and others.

These courses are for those wishing to further their own knowledge and skills in these areas as well as for those who already facilitate groups in nature. All of our courses are taught by passionate nature mentors with a wealth of experience and a love of creating connective, inclusive and inspiring experiences.
